Rangers ended an eventful season with a comfortable victory over St Johnstone.
With news of Charles Green agreeing a deal to buy the Ibrox club breaking hours before kick-off, Lee McCulloch’s superb strike put the visitors ahead.
Sone Aluko fired Rangers’ second 11 minutes after the break and tapped home the third from Alejandro Bedoya’s pass.
Aluko completed his hat-trick with a powerful shot and Saints now require Hearts to win the Scottish Cup in order to qualify for the Europa League.
Steve Lomas’s side finish sixth – two points behind Hearts, who take on Hibernian in next weekend’s Hampden showpiece.
The hosts were prominent early on and Cillian Sheridan’s header from Liam Craig’s corner was blocked on the line by goalkeeper Allan McGregor.
At the other end, McCulloch’s nodded effort called Saints keeper Alan Mannus into action.
Bedoya then blazed over the St Johnstone bar after doing well to work the space for a shot.

But the visitors were in front by the 23rd minute as Ross Perry’s pass was flicked on by Maurice Edu to McCulloch on the run and the stand-in captain swept the ball past Mannus on the half-volley.
McCulloch appealed unsuccessfully for a penalty either side of half-time, the veteran claiming a foul and then a handball against Fraser Wright.
Francisco Sandaza headed over the Rangers crossbar from point-blank range as Saints threatened at a corner.
Craig did enough to put Kyle Bartley off after the defender threw himself at Aluko’s delivery, but it was not long before Rangers found the net again.
Edu put Aluko one-on-one with Mannus and the former Aberdeen forward finished well to the goalkeeper’s left.
And Aluko got his second after Steven Whittaker and Bedoya picked apart the St Johnstone defence to set the Nigeria international up for a tap-in.
Sandaza found the net with a close-range effort of his own but the Spaniard’s celebrations were cut short by the offside flag.
Lee Wallace’s deliveries had caused St Johnstone problems all afternoon and another cross from the full-back led to Aluko’s third, the 23-year-old getting the break of the ball and crashing a shot into the top corner.
Aluko took the acclaim of the visiting fans as he left the field to be replaced by debutant Barry McKay, who almost sneaked in for a scoring chance in a late Rangers attack.

Lee McCulloch’s goal-bound shot was blocked on the six-yard line by the head of Hateley after Sone Aluko had opened up the Motherwell defence early on.
Kyle Bartley ventured forward to curl a shot just over as Rangers continued to press and Aluko then drew a save from Darren Randolph.
But it was Motherwell who should have taken the lead after Ojamaa and Murphy had combined to put the former through on goal.
The Estonian rounded keeper Allan McGregor near the byeline and tried to set up his strike partner for a tap-in but the pass was too far in front of Murphy and the hosts cleared.

Rangers full-back Lee Wallace had an effort saved early in the second half before Motherwell went straight to the other end with Chris Humphrey, whose dangerous low cross towards Murphy was well cut out by Ross Perry, a first-half replacement for the injured Dorin Goian.
Referee Willie Collum allowed play to continue after Jamie Ness had fouled Ojamaa as the the striker got to his feet quickly to set up Hateley, who fired over from the edge of the box.
Manager Ally McCoist elected for a change in personnel with Ness and Rhys McCabe making way for Alejandro Bedoya and Andy Little, and it was the latter who got in the way of Bocanegra’s header from Aluko’s corner soon after.
Bedoya was well-placed to score when he failed to connect with Steven Whittaker’s teasing low centre as the last real chance of the match went unconverted.

RANGERS have revealed they will retire the No12 jersey at the end of the season in honour of the fans who have backed the club since it went into administration.
The Ibrox club will pay tribute to supporters at tomorrow’s game against Motherwell by dedicating the No12 jersey to them.
A card with a message of thanks from manager Ally McCoist will also be put on every seat.
The first-team squad will also carry a banner of thanks to the fans on to the pitch before kick- off and a souvenir programme saluting fans will be available
McCoist said: “Supporters are often referred to as the 12th man and now, more than ever, we are seeing the incredible backing of our global fanbase doing all they can to help Rangers.
“We will pay tribute to our fans by retiring the No12 jersey in their honour and dedicating it forever to the supporters.
“I have been truly humbled by the way our fans have supported the club since we went into administration. Our support has been everything we thought it would be and more and they have shown an allegiance to the club which has been unequalled.
“I’d like to thank them for their ongoing loyalty and commitment to the club we all love.”
Lee Wallace, the club’s No12, said: “The fans have been absolutely fantastic this season and handing over the No12 jersey to them is the least I can do.”
