Poppy Scotland Donation

20130813_131921

The Sydney True Blues recently presented a cheque for $1000 to Poppy Scotland in Glasgow. The donation was raised during the raffle of a limited edition signed Poppy top towards the end of the season in Sydney. 50% of the money raised had already been donated to the Anzac Appeal and Poppy Scotland very gratefully accepted the other 50%. During the visit to present the cheque members David Robin and Andrew Gray met with Roslyn Scoular of Poppy Scotland to tell her how the money was raised over a cup of tea in their office. Roslyn thanked the club for the donation and took some photos for their newsletter which circulates around three times a year and she’s said the club will receive a copy. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a very worthwhile cause.

The boys were met by fan’s liaison officer Jim Hannah who showed them around the complex and let them watch training.  Lee was an absolute gent of a man and was happy to spend a little time with us even in the middle of a training season.  Before leaving the complex the boys were also allowed to sit in on the press conference where Bilel Mohsni was introduced to the media for the first time after agree to sign for Rangers from 1st September 2013.

STB Membership Fees 2013/2014

The Sydney True Blues membership fee for season 2013/2014 is $30 following a members poll held over the last week. We’d like to thank everyone who voted and invite all current members to renew their membership for this season and anyone who’s interested in joining us to sign up now!

The $30 is divided between club running costs ($10) and ORSA fees ($20). The current price means we retain our club fee from last season and adhere to the ORSA increase announced in May. As members of ORSA you are entitled to apply for match tickets and this season be entered into a prize draw to win a trip to the ORSA 2014 AGM being held in Darwin next March.

We are in the process of designing & producing membership cards for this season, keep up to date with the website and the Facebook group for the latest information.

Sydney True Blues AGM 2013

Sydney True Blues AGM 2013

Following the Sydney True Blues AGM held at the Aurora Hotel in late April we would like to announce the following changes that have been made to the club. The constitution was introduced and amended where required before being approved. In an effort to spread the workload of keeping the club as active as possible we introduced new positions to our committee. After nominations and votes were taken we can announce the following titles and the members who will look after each area.

Club Secretary – Robert Kay – [email protected]

Club Treasurer – Gail Kay[email protected]

ORSA Rep – Derek Kerr[email protected]

Webmaster – Murray Robertson[email protected]

Merchandise – Thomas Shannon[email protected]

Positions will be held for two years and we hope this will aid a smooth running of the club. We would like to thank those members who took the time to attend and to our new members from the Sydney RSC as we continue their legacy to promote the growth of Rangers in this wonderful city.

We agreed to donate $1000 to both Poppy Scotland & the ANZAC Appeal on the back of the successful poppy shirt raffle, and there will be similar charity raffles held in the future. We announced our player of the year for last season as Lee McCulloch who won over 50% of the vote in our online poll – a trophy will be presented to him in the near future.

Membership is above 70 and we’ll be hoping to renew as many of these as possible as well as welcoming more new members to the club.

Minutes for the AGM have only been available until now on a reasonably large audio file as they were recorded on the night. They have now been manually converted to text so should any member wish to obtain a copy please email the club.

Other items that were not discussed will be raised at our next meeting which is TBC during the close season.
